Monthly Meetings and Programs
Cary Garden Club 2024 – 2025 Programs
Monthly meetings are held September to June on the first Tuesday of the month
(unless specified in the below schedule) at the Cary Senior Center Ball Room
located at Bond Park, 120 Maury O’Dell Place, Cary, NC 27513.
Social and sign in starts at 9:15 AM.
The meetings start at 9:30 AM and end at 11:30 AM.
Tuesday September 3, 2024 – Horticulture Program
Cotton in the Carolinas!
Dr. Guy Collins (The Cotton Guy), Professor at NCSU,
will discuss the importance of cotton to our area – both past and present.
Tuesday October 1, 2024 – Horticulture Program
The Weekend Gardener
Rufus Edmisten – formal NC Attorney General and current radio talk show host.
Topic: The Weekend Gardener – radio show which he hosts Saturday mornings on WPTF
Tuesday November 5, 2024 – Floral Program
Holiday Arrangements
Bess Treadway – Floral Designer and member of Raleigh Garden Club
will lead the holiday arrangement workshop.
Wednesday November 20, 2024 – Social / Fundraising Program
Annual Silent Auction / Luncheon

Blooms All Year Round
Master gardeners Carla Helms and Laura Willer
will discuss planting to provide colorful blooms all year round in our area.
Tuesday February 4, 2025 - Horticulture Program
Prairie Gardens
Leaf and Limb landscape architects will provide plans for creating a Prairie Garden in your yard.
Tuesday March 4, 2025 - Floral Program
Ordinary to Extraordinary
Tonia Gebhard, Trader Joe’s Morrisville and Arts in Bloom designer
will speak on turning grocery store flowers into beautiful arrangements.
Tuesday April 1, 2025 - Horticulture Program
Landscaping for wildlife with Native Plants
Debbie Roos, Chatham County Extension Agent and creator of Chatham Mills’ Pollinator Paradise Garden,
will share information on gardening for pollinators.
Tuesday May 6, 2025 - Horticulture Program
Moss and More
Erica Winston, Moss Grower extraordinaire,
will provide tips for growing varieties of moss.

Annual Picnic and Plant Exchange

Get in Shape to Garden
Jennifer Case, physio therapist, will lead club members in exercise
to strengthen your body for gardening without aches and pains.
Dress in comfortable clothing and shoes to move it!
Nonmembers are invited to visit with us for up to two monthly programs
while they consider joining the club. In addition to the monthly meetings,
we also enjoy day trips to various horticultural-related sites in the area.
