Monthly Meetings and Programs
Cary Garden Club 2023 – 2024 Programs
Monthly meetings are held September to June on the first Tuesday of the month
(unless specified in the below schedule) at the Cary Senior Center Ball Room
located at Bond Park, 120 Maury O’Dell Place, Cary, NC 27513.
Social and sign in starts at 9:15 AM.
The meetings start at 9:30 AM and ends at 11:30 AM.

Karen Dawsey, featured speaker at the NC Garden Club state convention,
will travel from Wilmington to present this opening program filled with enthusiasm and surprises.

Join our member panel of experts as they present a podcast based on questions submitted by members.

Annual Silent Auction / Luncheon
Special Time: 10:30 AM to 2PM

Annual Holiday Party and Annual Toys for Tots Drive

Tuesday January 2, 2024 - Environmental Program
Get Involved.
Wake County Environmental Services representatives will offer a program on composting and recycling.
They will explain how the county is working to involve ALL citizens.
Tuesday February 6, 2024 - Horticulture Program
Dorthea Dix Park .. Past and Present
Ernie Dollar, Director of the City of Raleigh Museum, will take us on an oral tour of this historic site
as far back as Civil War and forward to future plans.
Tuesday March 5, 2024 - Environmental Program
When is a farm more than just a farm?
NC department of Agritourism representative will discuss their role in expanding farm use to tourism sites.
Tuesday April 2, 2024 - Floral Design Program
“Out of the box”
Members will be divided into teams and given a box of floral materials.
Teams will be challenged to create a design using materials in their Box.
Tuesday May 7, 2024 - Environmental Program
Go Native!
Helen Yoest will speak on NC native plants. She will address our unique gardening environment
and the challenges it brings to our area. Helen is the author of three books and the Executive director
of Bee Better, a non profit based in Raleigh

Annual Picnic and Plant Exchange
Location: Ritter Park, Cary
Special Time: 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM
Nonmembers are invited to visit with us for up to three monthly programs
while they consider joining the club. In addition to the monthly meetings,
we also enjoy day trips to various horticultural-related sites in the area.
