Cary Garden Club 2025 – 2026 Programs


Monthly meetings are held September to June on the first Tuesday of the month
(unless specified in the below schedule) at the Cary Senior Center Ball Room
located at Bond Park, 120 Maury O’Dell Place, Cary, NC 27513.
Social and sign in starts at 9:15 AM.
The meetings start at 9:30 AM and end at 11:30 AM.

Bees in the Garden
  Roger Montague, a Wake County native, is a beekeeper, avid gardener, and a supporter of native bees. He will share his expertise on bees and give us a sneak peek into his beautiful gardens at his home in Cary!

Herbs at Home: Grow, Harvest, Enjoy
  Steve Amerige, Master Gardener of Wake County volunteer and contributor to Triangle Gardener, will lead an engaging talk on growing, harvesting, and using herbs at home. Join us to discover expert tips and practical advice to make the most of your herb garden!

Leigh Schwinden, a weed scientist at NC State, will share her knowledge and expertise in the area of weed identification and control.

February Flashback to the Fifties
Katherine Loflin, "The City Doctor," is a local historical event producer, speaker, and historian. She gives a voice to Cary's past, present, and future. She will provide insight into Cary history and happenings during the 1950s when Cary Garden Club was formed.

Talena Chavis is widely known as the North Carolina Snake Catcher. Talena and her dedicated team of six trained agents provide 24/7 service for safe and humane removal of snakes across N.C. Her clear mission is to"fight fear with facts" and she will share these facts with us.

Gabriela Garrison, Eastern Piedmont Habitat Conservation Coordinator for the NC Wildlife Resources Commission, will share her knowledge on the topic of attracting wildlife and creating a native habitat that supports ecological diversity in our gardens.

Nonmembers are invited to visit with us for up to two monthly programs
while they consider joining the club.  In addition to the monthly meetings,
we also enjoy day trips to various horticultural-related sites in the area.
